Tammy Johnson Chair
Originally from Houston, Tammy came to Greenville three years ago by way of Alaska, Hawaii and Charleston. She has had a long career in the hospitality field and opened Liquid Catering, the Upstate’s only special event bartending company, in 2011. She has managed some of Greenville’s largest and most prominent events, and has even been voted “Best Caterer of the Year” by the Greenville News. She has been an active PULSE member for two years, previously serving on the Social Committee before being selected to the Advisory Council as vice chair last year. Aside from PULSE, her other Greenville Chamber duties include serving on the Leadership Development Council and Chamber Finance Committee. She is also an active volunteer with Big Brothers, Big Sisters of the Upstate, served as volunteer Bar Manager for Euphoria and is a member of the Upstate Bridal Association. In her free time, she enjoys rock-climbing, hiking and reading.
John Boyanoski Vice Chair
John Boyanoski is the president of Complete Public Relations, which is a Greenville-based media affairs company. Before that, John spent almost a decade as a journalist working for the Greenville Journal and the Greenville News as well as writing for a wide variety of magazines including Sports Illustrated, The Sports Business Journal, Planning, Campaigns & Elections, Blue Ridge Country, Go and Our State. His work received the 2006 Investigative Reporting Award from the Suburban Newspapers of America and he has won numerous honors from the South Carolina Press Association. He has interviewed five U.S. presidents, covered three presidential elections and the College World Series.
A native of Pennsylvania, he graduated from Syracuse University where he was a Newhouse Scholar. He is the author of three books including his latest on the history of high school football in South Carolina, which has received strong reviews. He sits on the Meals on Wheels Advisory Council as well as volunteers on the line. He also has volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, Kiwanis Main Street Young Professionals, Concrete Primary School PTSO and several political campaigns. He is a member of the Greenville Track Club, Greenville Forward and the Greenville Symphony’s Vivace Society. He has one daughter.
Blaine Hart Sports Chair
Blaine serves as an office advisor for CBRE|The Furman Co., specializing in office landlord and tenant representation. CBRE is the global leader in commercial real estate services. He began his career with The Furman Co., as an intern in 2007. Upon earning his business degree from Furman University in 2008, he returned to the company to serve as a leasing agent with the commercial brokerage division.
Lindsey Myers Special Projects Chair
Lindsey Myers is a consultant with McCallum Sweeney Consulting, providing site selection services and economic development consulting to companies and organizations worldwide.
Lindsey is currently part of the consulting team for a high-tech aviation project as well as a strategic planning project for The Beacon Council in Miami, Florida. She recently completed work on the Mitsubishi Electric Power Products manufacturing project as well as a target industry study for the Charleston Regional Development Alliance.
Before joining McCallum Sweeney Consulting, Lindsey served as a research analyst and tax and incentive consultant for the South Carolina Department of Commerce. There she was responsible for development of marketing and project deliverables and tax and incentive research for the state. Lindsey professional background also includes positions with the Charleston Area Federal Credit Union and Sodexho/Carolina Dining Services as well as an internship with Miller Brewing Company.
Lindsey earned both her master’s of public administration and bachelor’s in business administration, from the University of South Carolina. She is a member of the South Carolina Economic Developers Association (SCEDA).
Kimberly Witherspoon Leadership Chair
A native of New Zion, South Carolina, Kimberly Witherspoon is an attorney at Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd, P.A., where she works on public finance, intellectual property and employments matters. She received her bachelor’s in history and political science from Furman University and her Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center. She has been active in PULSE since moving to Greenville in 2010 and served on the Leadership Committee in 2011. In addition to her involvement in PULSE, Kimberly is a member of the Junior League of Greenville and serves on the board of Greenville Chautauqua and on the United Way of Greenville County African American Leadership Council.
Joshua Lyall Marketing Chair
Joshua Lyall is media and research director at Jackson Marketing Group, South Carolina’s largest B2B integrated marketing communications agency. His position includes oversight of the agency’s media planning and buying services as well as all research projects. Joshua has been with Jackson Marketing Group for more than five years and in that time has had opportunities to work with nearly all their clients on projects ranging from photo shoots to focus groups.
Originally from just outside Washington, D.C., Josh has lived in Greenville for more than ten years. He initially came to the city to attend Bob Jones University for his undergrad in marketing management, and returned after two years at Auburn University where he received his master’s in business administration with a concentration in marketing.
Josh is active in the Greenville community and has been involved in the PULSE PaceSetters program the last two years.
During his free time, Josh enjoys mountain biking, hiking and playing a variety of sports poorly (golf, tennis and basketball particularly).
Hank Holseberg Talent Chair
Born and raised in Greenville, Hank understands the challenges that face entrepreneurs in the Upstate. After successfully running Morris Construction as president and CEO, Hank decided to join Flynn Wealth Management in 2010. Hank has worked in the Commercial Real Estate Contracting and Development areas. He is able to use that experience to help his clients manage funding sources, plan for succession and formulate exit strategies. His expertise most readily serves the small business market, and in particular, family-owned businesses as well as individuals planning for retirement. Active with organizations such as PULSE, Hank is able to communicate complex financial information in a manner that earns the trust of those with whom he works.
Hank holds a bachelor’s in business management and finance from Coastal Carolina University. Hank enjoys spending time with his wife, Tyler, and their two boys.
Carrie Schultz PaceSetters Chair
Carrie serves as assistant vice president for retail checking and strategy at TD Bank. She is responsible for the profitable growth of consumer checking accounts while driving best in class account acquisition strategies within TD Bank’s legendary customer service model.
Originally from York, Carrie landed in Greenville after an outstanding career at Wofford College, where she was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa and graduated summa cum laude with double majors in Government and Intercultural Studies of Business. While at Wofford, she held leadership roles with Delta Delta Delta, helped start the Student Alumni Association, studied in Dijon, France, and interned for the U.S. Congress in Washington, D.C.
Present at the first PULSE event in 2005, Carrie is proud to be an original PULSE member. Since then and through connections formed in PULSE, especially PaceSetters, Carrie helped found the Red Shoe Society which helps engage, empower, and inspire young professionals to support the Ronald McDonald House Charities. Carrie also supports the United Way Young Philanthropists and was named one of “Greenville’s Best and Brightest Under 35” by Greenville Business Magazine.
For fun, Carrie enjoys traveling, attending theatre (her favorite is the Warehouse Theatre), taking French language classes at the International Center of the Upstate, and sampling fare at Greenville’s fantastic restaurants.
Mike Pennington Social Committee Chair
Mike is owner of Rhino Concessions and Funnelicious. Rhino is a special event food service company serving Greenville County recreation district, five waterparks in the state, Furman University, and many other events and festivals. Mike is a Greenville native and attended the University of South Carolina. His primary focus was business with a double major in Marketing and Entrepreneurship. He also minored in sports management and hotel restaurant and tourism. While in school, he served as an equipment manager for the USC football team working under Lou Holtz and Steve Spurrier.
Mike also volunteers for Junior Achievement, teaching high school students job preparedness and interviewing skills. Mike enjoys sailing, hiking, camping, sports, backpacking and traveling the world.
Patrick Mieritz Investment Chair
Patrick Mieritz works in business-to-business development in the career services department of Brown Mackie College-Greenville. His main focuses include identifying career opportunities for recent alumni and developing internship sites for soon to be graduates. A born-and-bred native of Fort Worth, Texas, Patrick came to Greenville by way of Furman University where he graduated, in four years, with a bachelor’s in history in 2007. Patrick has called Greenville home since graduating and is active with PULSE, the Red Shoe Society and promoting Brown Mackie College as the premiere vocational college in the Upstate.
Berri Hicks Connects Chair
Berri has worked in purchasing for nine years (construction and healthcare) and is currently a buyer for the Greenville Hospital System. She is responsible for the procurement of medical and surgical supplies for six GHS hospitals as well as their distribution center and outlying physician practices. In 2009, Berri relocated to Greenville from Austin. Although raised in Connecticut she is a proud Texas native. She graduated from the College of Charleston in 1998 with a bachelor’s in corporate communications with a minor in business administration. After college she moved to Sydney, Australia to work and travel. While in Sydney, she met her (now) husband, Colin, and they married in Austin in 2000.
Berri is a volunteer victim advocate for the Julie Valentine Center, assisting adult and child sexual assault victims and is the recipient of the 2009 Volunteer of the Year award. She is the current United Way fundraising coordinator for the GHS Materials Distribution Center and serves on the board of directors for Clarity, a not-for-profit speech, hearing and learning center in Greenville. She also serves on the GHS Young Professionals Advisory Council and is part of the 2012 PaceSetters program.
